Monkey Stunt Foiled

Jonathan had a GREAT time with his Nonnie and Grandpa this past weekend while his Mommy & Daddy took a weekend away in Phoenix. As grandparents do, his spoiled him. While I must admit they did a great job keeping the 'rules' (which at this age are much just bedtime and no standing up in the bathtub), I returned home to find evidence on the video camera of some major monkey business. While I've been carefully washing Monkey A on the days Jonathan has Monkey B, and vice versa, always keeping one tucked away for 'just in case,' it turns out Jonathan slept with two monkeys for the past three nights! Not just slept with two monkeys, but pretty much spent the day with the two stuffed primates. Mom explained, "well, he seemed to want them both." Again, what's worse than one stinky monkey tail? TWO stinky monkey tails. Jonathan seems to have quite enjoyed the monkey party, though:





Big thanks to my Mom & Dad for all the time they spend with Jonathan, and for the extra childproofing! I think Dad got elected Safety Officer in his elementary school... whatever did it, he's always coming up with ideas that keep Jonathan from peeling the foam corners off the tables and bumping his head, and we appreciate it!

As an aside... Who in the world started the rumor that heat is so much better if it's a "dry heat" ? Phoenix is hotter than Hades, and that's coming from two Houstonians. David got out of the sauna at the hotel noting that at 90 degrees, it was actually 23 degrees COOLER than outside.

We did have a great time, despite the desert trying to kill us. Highlights include getting to visit my college roommate, Kacy, and seeing her lovely home. We also loved the Heard Museum and the BLT Steakhouse -- serious yummy.
