Meanwhile, we're wrapping up the last days of residency (woohoo!) and preparing for the transitions in the months ahead... Abigail's arrival in September, my pediatric boards in October, and a new (part-time!) job in November.
In the vein of catch-up, here's the final installment of our trip to Alaska:
The highlight of Skagway was the train ride. Jonathan was tickled pink to ride the train and enjoyed sitting with his Nonnie and Papa on the way up to Canada.
While we delighted in the scenery, Jonathan's attention was captured by the railroad cars and working vehicles along the tracks.
Quick stop in Fraser, Canada and then back down the mountains.
Cold, happy family.
More cold, happy family.
A look out over the port in Skagway.
Jonathan really wanted to sit on this truck before we left the look out, so Daddy indulged him. What's vacation for, if not some good truck sightings?
After our return David made a quick trip to Chicago and brought back this ball and bat for Jonathan. He's actually gotten the idea of baseball much better since these were shot (and we have some hysterical video footage I'll find a way to edit one day), but these photos are pretty accurate documentation of Jonathan's first time up to bat in the backyard with Daddy :) Though he'd momentarily lost interest before the pitch even made it to him, he was eager to retrieve the new toy and show it off for the camera!
