First Week as a Family of Four

Wow... I can't believe it's nearly been two weeks since Abigail was born. We're loving life as a family of four and are enjoying her immensely. Jonathan has been a great big brother and is very sweet and gentle with his little sister. It is so much fun to watch his eyes light up when he holds her in his lap (with help!) and she looks up at him. He's quite the proud brother. It's been a busy two weeks, learning to juggle two kids at home and preparing for my board exam, which is now a week away. We've been grateful to have some amazing help and company, with my parents in town for the first week and David's parents in town this second week. Here's a selection from Abigail's first week.

Ready to go home!
Home Sweet Home! We got Abigail out of her carseat and she was immediately back to sleep in Mommy's arms.

Jonathan woke from his nap to find we'd come home with Baby Abby. He was very excited to hold his little sister and exchange gifts.

Jonathan presenting the pink hippo (named "Pink Piggie") that he'd picked out for his baby sister.

Jonathan was elated with the cowboy hat his sister "gave" him. Good idea, Abigail!
Proud Papa with Baby Abby.
Because of a blood type difference and jaundice, Abigail came home on phototherapy and had to be on a blue light blanket her entire first week. Our little "glow worm" spent most of her first week in a diaper swaddled in blankets around her "bili blanket." It's been so much fun to have her off the bili blanket this week and be able to dress her and cuddle.
Abby slept for most of her first visit with her Mommy's Grandma and Grandpa.
Jonathan's big treat for the week was a trip to the Battleship Texas with his Daddy, Papa, and Uncle Bobby. The guys had a great time and Jonathan came home happy and tuckered out. He's been talking about the big, grey ship ever since!

Both of the kids really enjoyed having Nonnie here for the week, as did we!
Happy with my two kiddos in my lap.

Jonathan's made good use of his cowboy hat, here getting a ride with Daddy to his room for bedtime.
